Yuichi Sugiyama celebrated the Honorary Degree – Doctor of Science
at the University of Florida
Head of Sugiyama Laboratory of Innovation Center, Research Cluster for Innovation, Yuichi Sugiyama (professor emeritus at the University of Tokyo) was presented the commencement at the University of Florida (UF).
In the university’s long history of over 160 years, he is the 3rd awardee in area of pharmaceutical. It becomes a remarkable accomplishment in a decade.
On April 30, commencement ceremony was held at 7 o’clock pm local time at the Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. He received the diploma, a memorial tassel and cap along with the hood from Dr. W. Kent Fuchs, the president of the University of Florida. He also received an honorary doctorate from Uppsala University on January, 2014.
He was evaluated that he has been leading the research of pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenetics and drug transporter, as a world authority on pharmacology and pharmaceuticals.
